How to write the main part of the term paper?

The main part of the course work is not in vain called the main, since the content of the main part of the work influences the final assessment of the work by the teacher.

Usually the main part of the course work includes three chapters, at least – two. Some universities provide a special plan for writing a term paper, but this is the exception rather than the rule. In fact, it is very difficult for a student to make a plan of course work independently.

Drawing up a plan may differ depending on the subject being studied. In this article we consider the features of drawing up a plan of course work for economic disciplines.

Drawing up a coursework plan for an economic theoretical discipline.

Chapter 1. Theoretical foundations (object of study)

Concept, principles, conditions of formation (object of study)

Classification, types (object of study)

Features (object of study) in certain conditions

Chapter 2. Research, analysis, study (object of study)

2.1 Analysis (object of study)

2.2 Comparison of (object of study) with related objects

2.3 Management (object of study)

Chapter 3. Prospects for the development (object of research) in modern conditions

If the course work is devoted to the study of the theoretical foundations of the economic subject, then the outline of the main part of the course work can be drawn up as presented above. The object of research in this case is what the course work is devoted to. For example, the theme of the course work sounds like: “The company’s activities in a completely competitive market.” Accordingly, the object of the study will be perfect competition.

In paragraph 1.1 of the course work discusses the concept of the object of study, offers the views of various authors on the concept. Authors’ points of view can be taken from the Cyberlenink Scientific Electronic Library

Section 1.2 discusses the main types of the object of study, offers a classification by type.

Section 1.3 may be present in the course work, and may not be present. In this item it is logical to include any features of the object of study in certain conditions. For example, since in Russia often there are periods of economic instability, in paragraph 1.3 we can consider the behavior of the object of study in conditions of economic instability. The main thing is that clause 1.3 should be logically connected with theory, that is, it should show some definite point of view on the object of study, it does not need calculations.

In Chapter 2 of the course work, an analysis or a more detailed study of the object is carried out, specific examples are given, it is appropriate here to give calculations. Increases the scientific value of the work, if Chapter 2 conducted a comparative analysis between the object of research coursework and related objects. For example, a comparative analysis of the costs of a company operating in conditions of perfect competition and in conditions of monopolistic competition. Based on the results of a comparative analysis, conclusions are formulated. The last paragraph of Chapter 2 (2.3) again does not necessarily have to be present, but if it is present, it must be related to how the object of research conducts within a particular industry or at this point you can touch upon issues related to a particular enterprise, consider how the management takes place. within the object under study. The main thing is that in § 2.3 the student should make it clear to the teacher that he can relate the theoretical foundations of the study to practice. Clause 2.3 can also analyze foreign experience. Foreign experience always increases the scientific value of the course work.

In Chapter 3 of the course work devoted to the theoretical foundations of economics it is logical to consider the prospects for the development of the object of study in modern conditions. Chapter 3 is usually not subdivided into subparagraphs, but if the teacher is demanding, then it can be divided into separate paragraphs (in each of them describe the scenarios for the development of the object of study).

Drawing up a coursework plan for an economically practical discipline.

For economic practical discipline (investment analysis, analysis of financial and economic activities, etc.), writing the main part is much easier than for theoretical economic discipline, because the structure of the plan describes in detail all aspects of the enterprise’s activities and looks something like this:

Chapter 1. Theoretical foundations (object of study)

Concept, principles, conditions of formation (object of study)

Classification, types (object of study)

Features (object of study) in certain conditions

Chapter 2. Analysis of the object of study on the example of LLC “….”

2.1 brief description of the company

2.2 Analysis of individual aspects of the object of study

2.3 Analysis of individual aspects of the object of study

2.4 Analysis of individual aspects of the object of study

Chapter 3. Ways to improve the management of the object of study

3.1 Path 1

3.2 Path 2

3.3 Cost-effectiveness of proposed activities

Chapter 1 in the works on economic disciplines related to practice is written by analogy with Chapter 1 of the term papers on theoretical economic disciplines.

The second chapter must contain paragraph 2.1, which briefly describes the history of the company under investigation. Most importantly, this item was not in terms of 50% of all work. It is enough to briefly tell about the company on 3 sheets, provide information in a compressed form, give a diagram of the organizational structure, briefly describe the duties of individual elements, and conclude this section with data on the economic condition of the company for the last 3 years (revenue, cost, value of fixed assets, number of employees, labor productivity, capital productivity, net profit)

The remaining paragraphs of Chapter 2 analyze the indicators characterizing the object of study. For example, the classical scheme of analysis of financial and economic activity of an enterprise includes analysis of the structure and dynamics of balance (horizontal and vertical analysis of balance), analysis of liquidity and solvency, analysis of financial stability, business analysis, cost analysis and profitability analysis. These items should be presented in term papers on the analysis of financial and economic activity of the enterprise. On other (narrower topics) it is logical to consider certain aspects of the object of study and the number of items in the second chapter will not be as large as in financial analysis.

For example, if the topic is related to investments, then in paragraph 2.2 it is possible to analyze the cash flow of the company’s investment activities during the last 3 years, and in paragraph 2.3 to give an example of a completed investment project with its NPV and IRR.

The most important thing in economics related to practice is chapter 3, which discusses ways to improve. The student should be attentive to the writing of this chapter and suggest real ways to improve the company’s activities in order to finally calculate the economic effect of the proposed activities. In conclusion of the third chapter, a table is necessarily compiled of the indicators that were before the proposed measures and the same indicators, but taking into account the measures.

Thus, coursework in economic disciplines is quite simple to write, if you follow the above rules.
